| Staying in deluxe rooms at the 5-star Sofitel Central Plaza. We love this hotel, especially its proximity to Dom Muang Airport, and its almost as quick by expressway to the new Suvarnabhumi airport. Avoid the traffic gridlock of downtown Bangkok. The hotel has 7 excellent restaurants, and is conveniently located adjacent to a large shopping mall and Central department store, plus directly links to the Skytrain and subway. (Just walk from the Mezzanine level across the car pack, and you are there in under1 minute!) |

Within minutes walking to several subway stations, and just across the street from one of the city's best hawker food courts, The Scarlet is a personal favorite. Admittedly, the rooms are small, but that's part and parcel of architectural preservation restrictions. We think it's a worthwhile trade off. (All executive rooms have full windows.) And once you lie down on the percale cotton sheets and down pillows... |

Package includes private airport transfers to and from the hotel, a welcome treat of kaya toast and pulled tea on arrival, daily a la carte breakfast, late check out to 4 p.m. and we'll also throw in our 3-page Globetrotting Gourmet® Guide to Singapore. Naturally, we can also quote with private guide, but Singapore is so easy to navigate on your own. Start with reflexology foot massage. It's a specialty of the neighborhood... |
